Four things: all six Cures Act data points captured automatically (not typed in), state aggregator support for your program, verification strong enough to survive an audit (GPS + geofence beats telephony), and — most overlooked — whether the same app covers the rest of the visit (documentation, medications, mileage) so you are not reconciling multiple systems.
Is a geofence time clock the same as EVV software?
No. A geofence time clock verifies location; EVV software produces a compliant record of six required data points and reports it to your state's aggregator. Agencies using generic time clocks for Medicaid visits still have an EVV gap.
Which EVV software is cheapest?
Generic time clocks are cheapest per user but are not EVV-compliant.
