CareGeo Features
HIPAA-compliant by construction — BAA included on every plan
Generic time clocks and messaging apps were never built for PHI — using them in home care quietly creates HIPAA exposure every day. CareGeo assumes everything it touches is protected health information and is engineered accordingly.
Is CareGeo HIPAA compliant?
Yes. CareGeo is built for protected health information: PHI is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), access is role-based, and a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement is part of onboarding on every plan — not a premium add-on.
Do I get a BAA with CareGeo?
Yes, on every plan. Signing the Business Associate Agreement is a built-in onboarding step, and your signed BAA is downloadable from the dashboard whenever an auditor or payer asks for it.
How does CareGeo keep caregivers off SMS?
Texting PHI over regular SMS is one of the most common HIPAA violations in home care. CareGeo includes in-app messaging between the office and caregivers, so schedules, client questions, and visit issues stay inside the encrypted platform.
Can family members see PHI?
Only what you enable. The Family Portal is a secure, read-only page per client, shared by private link and toggleable per client. Push notifications and emails can be configured to keep PHI out of message bodies.
Where is CareGeo hosted?
On Google Cloud in the United States, under Google's HIPAA-eligible services with our BAA chain in place.
